Bloodlust Virus Chapter TwoStepping closer to the Clan, Zero licked his lips, savoring the taste of blood. He stopped a few tail-lengths away from the cats and growled, "Your precious leader is dead! From this point on, what I say is the law. To disobey or voice dis-approval is treason."
Zero glanced briefly at Venom, who was, at this point, grooming Kane's body for burial. His cheeks were soaked from the tears, although he had stopped crying.
"Another thing," Zero hissed, " from now on, bodies shall be burned or left in the humans' territory to be disposed of."
Venom looked up at the new leader in shock. He let out a mew of confusion as he sat up straight. In his mane, the kit squirmed, digging its tiny claws into Venom's neck.
"Everyone is dismissed. Those old enough to walk are expected back here tomorrow by sunrise, where you will be given your orders. Disobedience is treason."
Zero turned and padded away confidently, leaving the shocked Clan in the alley.
Bloodlust Virus Chapter One
"All in favor of choosing a new leader, please rise," a large dark tom cat roared with authority. In the faint moonlight, a dozen cats of various shapes and sizes rose to their paws, leaving only three cats sitting defiantly on the crumbling asphalt. The three glanced nervously at their fellow clanmates before sitting up proudly and returning their gazes to the dark tom.
The large cat stepped forward into the beam of a streetlight. His long fluffy coat swayed gracefully as he moved forward toward the clan. Each of his silver tabby stripes was distinct and clearly visible against the soft charcoal colour of his fur. He unsheathed his claws and tensed his body, outlining every muscle. His white razor-sharp teeth glistened as he spoke.
"Kane is no longer fit to lead Nightclan," the tom glared at one of the three cats, a she-cat with a rough sandy coat. "She let her emotions take over, and it cost us the lives of three honorable soldiers. We cannot risk this happening again."
a dangerous hallucinationThe light coming through the window was bright,

Even though my eyes were closed
I could see it-
The skin of my arms prickled,
sweat dripped from my brow.
It was two in the afternoon but…
the sun was setting
through the window facing east.
I should have seen the hutch,
shelves lined with bone china
decorated with delicate leaves and vines.
I was so thirsty
and reaching for cups that should have been there.
Instead I found a billboard of butterflies,
the colors raging
more than any rainbow
I'd ever seen.
Their wings fluttered and flashed
yet somehow they moved in slow motion.
I wanted to stand,
wanted to reach out and touch them but…
I couldn't move,
and yet I laughed
ignoring my dry mouth
and the tingling in my feet.
There was a tempest
on the rise
and in my blood.
A sugar rush disguised
as a riot of butterflies
and they were swarming me.
There was a small vial
of insulin in my pocket
that I nev
